Launched in July 2023 by Cambodian-Australian Jones Ngoun, who was born right here in Siem Reap, Blue Water Park is the perfect way to spend an afternoon relaxing by the pool or getting in some laps. The main attraction of course being Siem Reap’s only 50m olympic sized swimming pool, but with plenty of other features to keep the family occupied.
During the hot sunny days in Cambodia, people are often looking for something relaxing to do to escape the heat, especially with kids, and what’s better than a fun day at Siem Reap’s biggest swimming pool? One of the biggest pool-related questions asked in Siem Reap is “Are there any pools big enough to actually swim laps?”, and now, thanks to Blue Water Park, the answer is yes!
Open 7 days a week from 9am-6pm, you can easily pop down in the morning or the early evening if you want to escape the mid day sun entirely, though there’s little need for that as the venue is well equipped with shaded seating areas in the style of Cambodian “Konjus”, where you can eat your food or just relax in a hammock.
If you’ve got your children with you, you’ll be more than pleased to hear there’s also a great splash pool loaded with child friendly water slides and apparatus. No need to worry about the kids getting bored while you get your exercise in!
The main venue has several food stalls selling plenty of options for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a fresh seafood papaya salad, or a nice cheesy pizza you’ll find it here, and at great prices we’d like to add! You’ll also find two trendy cafés here, the first being Teasha Tea which is a Melbourne inspired coffee and tea shop which opened in September 2023, and Kyōto Matcha House which serves up some of the finest Matcha in Cambodia, which opened in January 2024. Mr Jones’ vision for Blue Water Park includes opening up a diverse range of eateries at the venue which we very much look forward to!
Located in a nice peaceful area on Bakheng Road and listed on Google maps, this venue is only a short (5 minute tuk-tuk) from Pub Street, so it’s very accessible and has plenty of on site parking if you’re riding your motorbike here!
Blue Water Park is currently offering a promotional entry price of only $2 per person for an unlimited amount of time at the pool that day, which we think is incredible value. There currently isn’t towels provided so bring your own, although you might find that with the strong Cambodian sun, there’s little need, as you’ll dry off quickly anyway! Swimming gear like goggles and armbands can be purchased at the drinks stand that’s poolside or at the entrance.
Mr Jones has some grand plans for Blue Water Park, which he has stated includes a large man made lake with a floating restaurant and a zen garden, so be sure to keep your eye on this place! Be sure to click HERE to check out their Facebook page for more updates.
After a great day out at this awesome venue, you’re sure to be wanting a cocktail! Don’t forget to check out Picasso Bar or Spin Bar for a nice evening drink!
