Have you tried all the local dishes and are now craving Sushi or a big bowl of delicious Ramen? Sushi Bar Shin is an authentic Japanese restaurant located on Angkor Night Market Street, right in the centre of Siem Reap town (exact Google Maps location posted at the bottom of this article). Owned and run by a Japanese expat, Sushi Bar Shin provides excellent quality Japanese dishes with incredible value for money.
Sushi Bar Shin is open for lunch service daily from 11.30am until 2pm. The restaurant then closes down for the afternoon and reopen at 5pm for the dinner service, which runs until 11pm. Please note that the restauraunt is closed on Tuesdays! The prices at this restaurant represent fantastic value for money as the food is of a very high standard and sure to leave you satisfied. To make things even better, Sushi Bar Shin offers a 20% off your entire bill EVERY MONDAY 5pm-11pm! (Excluding bottles of liquor).
The name Shin (or 心 in Japanese script) means heart, and we believe that’s the perfect name for this restaurant. Spread out over three floors, the attentive staff and gentle ambiance will make you feel right at home as you dive into some delicious Japanese dishes. On the ground floor you have the air conditioned bar area (where you can also eat!) and a small dining area. Moving up to the second floor there is another air conditioned dining area. On the rooftoop, you’ll find a very peaceful outdoor dining space with comfortable seating and a nice relaxing vibe.
The rooftop dining area is a fantastic place to sit and watch the street below while you enjoy your meal or drinks. There is always relaxing music playing in the background and calm lighting which creates a really nice ambiance, perfect to impress your date! There is also a large projector screen which is sometimes used to screen football matches from local team, the Angkor Tigers.
If you’re someone who prefers to sit at the bar, this area is very welcoming and the air conditioning makes it a great place to enjoy a meal, or just have a few drinks if you’re not hungry! From the moment the staff welcome you at the door, to the moment they wish you goodbye, you’ll feel right at home in Sushi Bar Shin.
Whilst much of the food is prepared in the kitchen, sitting at the bar also has the added benefit of being able to watch the chefs at work, as you’ll be able to watch them preparing various Sushi dishes right in front of you! You’ll be able to sip your beer and nibble on some Edamame while watching the show.
The food itself represents all the flavours of Japan. From Sushi, to Sashimi, to Ramen, whatever you’re craving Sushi Bar Shin has got you covered. Our favourite dishes include the Spicy Salmon Roll and the Pork Cutlet Katsu Curry. Their Seared Beef Tataki is also absolutely amazing so make sure to try it! For side dishes, the Potato Salad is excellent and we highly recommend getting it to go with your meal. We also personally really like their Kimchi with its perfect blend of spicy and sour. If you’re not quite ready to order A La Carte or you want to try a range of items, check out their Sushi selections to get a nice mix of food at a great bargain.
The drinks at Sushi Bar Shin are very reasonably priced and they have a wide range of options when it comes to spirits and cocktails. Naturally, they also serve Soju and have a selection of ice cold Japanese beers including Asahi and Sapporo! If you’d prefer to stick with local beers, they also have local draft beer on tap.
We highly recommend Sushi Bar Shin and it’s easy to see why it has become one of Siem Reap’s most favoured restaurants over the years.
Street and offroad parking is available outside the restaurant. Sushi Bar Shin accepts cash, credit card and KHQR payments.
