In Khmer, “sabai” (សប្បាយ) is a versatile word that means relaxed, happy, and comfortable – which pretty much sums up the entire vibe of Sabai Lifestyle Pool Bar and Kitchen. Located in Wat Damnak, which is just a short walk from Pub Street, Sabai Lifestyle is where you go when you need to escape the busyness, cool off, and enjoy some seriously good food and drinks.
Sabai Lifestyle recently opened in Siem Reap, with their grand opening being held last month, but the team behind it have years of experience bringing great food to the locals, tourists and expats of Siem Reap. We expect Sabai Lifestyle will be successful in town with many years of good food and fun to come!

If there’s one thing Siem Reap does well (aside from the jaw-dropping temples at Angkor Wat and wild tuk-tuk rides), it’s food. This town is a paradise for foodies – whether you’re craving sizzling street food, authentic Khmer dishes, international comfort food, or some top-tier vegan eats, Siem Reap has it all. No matter where you’re from, you’ll find a taste of home somewhere in this vibrant little city.
But what if you want more than just good food? What if you’re looking for a place where you can kick back by a pool, sip on a cocktail, and soak up those tropical vibes? Enter Sabai Lifestyle Pool Bar & Kitchen – a hidden gem that blends delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere, and an epic poolside setting with cocktails starting from just $3.50. They do, of course, have beer and plenty of soft drinks available – don’t fret!
Whether you’re looking for a lazy afternoon by the pool, a casual dinner with friends, or a fun night out with live music and cocktails, Sabai ticks all the boxes. It’s got that perfect mix of chill and social, making it a go-to spot for both expats and tourists.
Let’s talk about the pool, because it’s a life saver! Siem Reap can get hot, especially around April and May, and there’s no better way to beat the heat than lounging by the water with an ice cold drink in hand. The pool area at Sabai is inviting, and 100% Instagram-worthy. Whether you’re diving in for a swim or just dipping your feet while sipping a cocktail, it’s the perfect place to unwind.

Sabai Lifestyle isn’t just about the atmosphere – they really deliver when it comes to the food. Their menu is packed with a mix of Khmer and Western dishes, so whether you’re in the mood for a local classic like beef loklak, a hearty pasta, or a fresh salad, you’ll find something that hits the spot. They also have some great classic English dishes including baked beans on toast and crumpets with butter!

Some of the more interesting menu dishes at Sabai Lifestyle are actually their Middle Eastern dishes – something you don’t see too much of in Siem Reap. Among these dishes is Tabouleh, Fattoush, Souriana and an Armenian Salad! So don’t forget to try some of these too while you’re chilling out in the big comfy rattan bowl chairs.
They’ve also got plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, so plant-based eaters won’t feel left out. We recommend the healthy homemade hummus served with cucumber and carrot sticks!
Our favourite dish on the menu at Sabai Lifestyle is definitely the Sabai chicken pasta. It’s absolutely incredible and a great sized portion so you’ll definitely leave feeling satisfied! An absolute bargain at just $4.50.

And of course, no poolside hangout is complete without drinks – Sabai Lifestyle has a solid cocktail menu, ice-cold beers, and fresh fruit shakes to keep you refreshed all day long. Grab a fresh coconut and sit by the pool or chill out at the bar with one of their cocktails, which are on offer during their daily happy hour (3-7pm) at 2 for $5!
They have a good selection of hot drinks, with coffee starting from just $1.25 for an espresso. They also have hot teas on the menu including Herba Mate and the Southeast asian favourite – Butterfly Pea Tea.
If you’re grabbing one of their delicious milkshakes on the way to the gym, you can also add a 25g scoop of protein powder to any shake for an extra $1.50, the perfect excuse to stop off here and chill out by the pool before your workout.

They do also host events here, with the most interesting being their Middle Eastern Open Buffet, a fantastic opportunity to sample various Middle Eastern food dishes at only $15. This event gets advertised on their Facebook page, so CLICK HERE to stay in the loop!
They also hosted a great 90’s night for their grand opening party, and they recently had a Trailer Park Bingo night. Check out their facebook page as they also have live music nights!

If you’re in Siem Reap and looking for a place that combines great food, a chill atmosphere, and a poolside escape, Sabai Lifestyle Pool Bar & Kitchen is a must-visit. Whether you’re a backpacker needing a break from temple-hopping, an expat looking for your new favorite hangout, or just someone who appreciates good food and good vibes, this spot has got you covered.
