If you’re in Siem Reap and looking for a top notch cup of coffee, The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe is a must-visit and probably one of South East Asia’s greated hidden gems. Tucked away in the leafy and hip Kandal Village, a stone’s throw away from Pub Street, this cafe is more than just a spot for great brews – it’s a hub of creativity, community, and positive impact. Whether you’re a caffeine connoisseur or simply in search of a laid-back place to chill that has a great atmosphere, The Little Red Fox delivers on all fronts.

Founded by entrepeneurial Australian duo Adam and David, and recently celebrating their ten year anniversary of keeping the Siem Reap community caffeinated and happy, the Little Red Fox has become a favourite in town amongst expats, locals, and tourists alike. This beautiful cafe is open from 7am until 5pm, 6 days a week (closed on Wednesdays), so if you need a little pick me up on the way to the breathtaking temples of Angkor Wat, they’ve got you covered!

Coffee with Character
Let’s start with the main event: the coffee. The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe is known for its expertly crafted drinks, featuring carefully selected coffee beans that are of the highest quality. Their commitment to using responsibly sourced, high-quality beans from South East Asia results in brews that are as rich in flavor as they are in cultural connection.

Try the Lemongrass and Ginger Latte, a refreshing combination that reflects local Cambodian flavours, perfect for Siem Reap’s balmy afternoons. If you’re more of a tea person, they have a wide selection of delicious teas, both the classics and more adventurous tastes such as their ‘Refreshing’ blend, with pineapple, kaffir lime and green tea.

They also make a wide range of fresh fruit smoothies, or if you’re feeling naughty, an Espresso Martini or Bloody Mary!

More Than Coffee
While their coffee is the star, the cafe’s food menu offers plenty to keep your taste buds entertained. For breakfast, their Avocado Smash is a crowd favorite, featuring fresh avocado on sourdough with a sprinkle of rocket and chickpeas. Our personal favourite is the delicious B.L.A.T Bagel, comprised of bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and garlic mayonnaise on a toasted bagel.

For something lighter, try one of their delicious bowls, packed with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Vegan and vegetarian options abound, so there’s truly something for everyone.

And let’s not forget dessert their homemade brownies and cookies pair perfectly with an afternoon espresso. If, like us, you like to check out the menu before you visit, Click HERE to see their full range.

Vegetarian, Gluten Free and Vegan Friendly
The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe offers a wide range of vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options, all clearly marked on their extensive menu. This includes delicious muffins or a Chocolate and Date Slab.
Why not try one of their new Vegan Protein Smoothies? With a choice between Rich Soy Vanilla or Chocolate and containing 40 grams of healthy protein and the option to add peanut butter for that extra treat!

A Cafe with a Cause
What truly sets The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe apart is its dedication to supporting the local community. The cafe actively trains and employs young Cambodians, providing them with skills in hospitality and barista craftsmanship. By empowering local staff, they create opportunities for growth and self-sufficiency in a region where such opportunities can be scarce. The Little Red Fox is not an NGO or social enterprise, they’re just committed to being better.

The Little Red Fox is also involved in environmental initiatives. They champion sustainable practices, such as reducing single-use plastics (instead opting for reusable products such as bamboo straws) and sourcing ingredients responsibly. If you care about supporting businesses that give back, every cup of coffee here feels like a small act of kindness.

Creative Vibes in Kandal Village
Beyond the coffee and food, The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe is a cornerstone of Kandal Village, a trendy area filled with boutique shops, art studios, and galleries. The cafe itself exudes creativity, often featuring art from local artists on its walls or hosting art exhibitions. It’s the perfect place to soak up the artsy, bohemian vibe of Siem Reap while sipping on a cappuccino. The Little Red Fox is heavily involved in local creative initiatives including music, art and film. They even catered for the production of “First They Killed My Father”, the Angelina Jolie Netflix movie adaptation of it’s namesake book.

The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe also carries a range of locally produced artisanal products available for purchase, from local businesses such as Baray for Life and Saarti.
