Spin Bar – Siem Reap’s Hidden Gem for Cocktails, Conversation, and some Fired Up Flair

If you’re on the hunt for Siem Reap’s best cocktails, skip the madness of Pub Street and head across the river to the laid back Wat Damnak area. Down a quiet little side street, you’ll find Spin Bar – one of the best bars in town and a favourite among both expats and tourists who find their way there. This up and coming area, not far from Siem Reap’s ‘hip’ Wat Bo Village, has gained a few impressive additions to the Siem Reap dining and drinking scene in recent years.

This quiet little road is also home to Mex’d Up Mexican Restaurant, Fujiyama Bom-ba-ye video game bar, and of course Wild – Creative Eatery (one of Cambodia’s best restaurants, offering up the most interesting spring rolls you’ll ever eat). It’s the perfect corner of town if you’re looking for a great night out but without the chaos of Pub Street.

This stylish and cozy bar is owned and run by Chris, an Englishman with big energy, an even bigger cocktail shaker, and the unfortunate burden of being a Tottenham Hotspur fan (don’t hold it against him!). Behind the bar, you’ll find him whipping up his own signature creations as well as all the classics – and trust us, they’re undeniably some of the best drinks in Siem Reap.

Open from 5pm Wednesday-Sunday, Spin Bar has carved out a reputation as one of the most welcoming and well loved bars in Siem Reap. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick drink or settling in for the evening, it’s the kind of place where strangers become friends – and more accurately – drinking partners.

Spin Bar is only open during the Cambodian high season (October-April) and during the quieter, rainy months, he packs his bags and heads off to Greece where he works in the nightlife scene and perfects his craft.

Community Vibes & Good Causes

Chris isn’t just about flair and fire tricks (although you might just catch both of those during his special events!) – he’s also heavily involved with the local community. Spin Bar regularly hosts charity raffles and events, including fundraisers for Animals of Our World, a local animal charity. One recent fundraising event even helped local kids travel to Phnom Penh for a competitive frisbee tournament, complete with proper trainers!

Calling all whiskey lovers: Spin Bar has the largest whisk(e)y selection in Siem Reap. What to Expect at Spin Bar

Fridays and Saturdays are prime time at Spin. Later on in the evening, it can get pretty busy and the atmosphere is always high energy and fun. If you arrive earlier in the evening, you’ll have a great opportunity to sip on some cocktails (or ice cold beer) and have a chat with Chris.

Whether you prefer to sit at the bar or in the comfy lounge sofas under the (digital) fireplace there’s plenty of seating inside where you can take advantage of the air conditioning and well placed fans for good airflow. There’s also a really nice outdoor patio area that’s recently been renovated and is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. During special events, when the bar gets busy, Chris gets in some extra help and you’re able to order beers and wines from outside too!

How to Get to Spin Bar in Siem Reap

To find Spin Bar, cross the river from the Old Market area heading towards Hard Rock Cafe, then take a right and your first right again.
