Venturing across to the west side of the Siem Reap river, nestled away in a side street in the Wat Damnak area lies Spin Bar, a favourite for both expats and tourists for amazing cocktails. Chris, the English owner (and unfortunately a Tottenham Hotspurs fan!) will be behind the bar serving up his delicious signature cocktails and of course all the classics, which have a reputation for being among the best drinks in town!

The small road that hides this well styled bar is also home to Wild – Creative Eatery, and Mex’d Up, two fantastic restaurants and just round the corner from Coco Cat Cafe in Siem Reap. If the chaotic energy of Pub Street Siem Reap is not really your vibe but you’re looking for a great night out, Spin Bar is where you want to be!

During Cambodian low season, Chris packs his bags and heads back to Zante where he works as a flair bartender at a nightclub in the busy nightlife scene. Spin Bar opens from 5pm daily and is shut Mondays, because even the best bartenders need a day off! Spin regularly hosts charity raffles and events, often partnering with animal charity Animals Of Our World. Recently, he also held a successful fundraiser to help a group of local children attend a competitive frisbee sporting event in Phnom Penh, and help get the kids trainers so they could have the proper gear!

Fridays and Saturdays you’re sure to run into plenty of expats looking for a great drink and a great conversation. If you’re lucky, you’ll be around for one of Spin’s famous fire and flair shows!

If you’re a whiskey drinker, Spin Bar has the largest range of whisk(e)y in Siem Reap, including Blanton’s bourbon which is notoriously difficult to get your hands on since the recent boom in bourbon’s popularity stateside. They also carry cigars, so you’re in for a night of sophistication (or debauchery, whichever you prefer!). Be sure to ask Chris what whiskey cocktails he can whip you up! The atmosphere in Spin is always great, whether you decide to sit at the bar, in the comfy lounge section, or outside on the patio.

Chris prides himself on being one of the most accommodating bar proprietors in town, so if there’s a specific spirit you’re after, give him a shout and he always does his best to get it for you. The bar also stocks plenty of locally made spirits, including Seekers Gin, Samai Rum, and Holly Creek Whiskey, all made right here in Cambodia. Because of this, you’re sure to find drinks on offer here that you won’t find anywhere else in Siem Reap!

As the night progresses, things can get lively in Spin Bar so get your party hat on and get your singing voice ready as you’re sure to have a fun time, whilst sipping on some of the best cocktails you’ll find in Siem Reap. We personally recommend trying his espresso martini or old fashioned cocktails, inbetween sipping on a single malt scotch of course!
