Give Kefir, a Southeast Asian based probiotic drink manufacturer, was founded in 2019 and continues to bring their delicious healthy drinks to the Cambodian market. The brand aims to promote sustainability and ethical production within the food and health industry.

Their Siem Reap and Phnom Penh branches currently offer free samples in store so you can give their drinks a try before committing to a flavour, or in our case, all the flavours! We’re yet to try one we disliked, but our favourite is currently tied between Watermelon Basil and Gingerade.

The Siem Reap Give Kefir branch is located on Street 9 (One street south of Pub Street Siem Reap, near the Old Market) and the Phnom Penh branch is located on Street 29 (in the Bassac Area). The stores also carry other locally produced items (from other companies) such as chocolate coated cashew nuts, dried mango slices, locally made honey and other organic products, so it’s a great idea to check out their range!

So why would you want to try these drinks as an alternative to soda, or as an addition to a healthy lifestyle? Apart from their fantastic taste of course! Check the chart below to see the health and wellbeing benefits of probiotics.

When on Holiday or travelling abroad, our stomachs aren’t always used to the bacteria found in the local food (yes, even in clean and hygienic restaurants!) and consuming a probiotic can help balance the bacteria in your stomach and prevent illness or ease the discomfort of a dodgy tummy. Even if you think you’ve got a stomach of steel, it’s always a good idea to take simple steps to make sure a bad stomach doesn’t ruin your time! Give Kefir is a great way to get these probitics for a decent price and disguised as a delicious refreshing drink!

Where can I buy them?

Aside from their own branches, Give Kefir is available in supermarkets, including Angkor Supermarket and Asia Market. They can also be purchased from the Give Kefir website HERE. Many cafe’s and restaurants around Siem Reap also stock Give Kefir products so keep your eye out when you’re out and about!

The Give Kefir probiotic drinks are generally priced at around $3.50 USD at reseller locations or can be picked up directly from branch at only $2.50. As part of their sustainability initiatives, they also offer a bottle return scheme which means by bringing back the empty bottles once you’re finished you’ll be able to get back $1 per bottle, effectively bringing the cost down to only $1.50 a bottle. An incredible deal if you ask us, so make sure to keep hold of your empty bottles! They also have 6 bottle carriers so you can keep your bottles safe and ready to be returned!

We can’t get enough of these drinks but if you don’t trust us, buy a bottle and see what everyone is talking about! When did being healthy start tasting so good?
