Planning a trip to Cambodia to visit Angkor Wat but still need to book your hotel in Siem Reap?
High end resorts, fancy boutique hotels, even party hostels charging more for a private room than some hotels! Siem Reap has all kinds of accomodation, but where do you stay if you’re on a tight budget but don’t want to compromise on the full Siem Reap experience? Errol’s is a guesthouse style homestay, located in the Taphul area, right in the heart of town and a short distance from Siem Reap Night Market. Although this homestay was founded on the basis that people should be able to visit Siem Reap on any budget, you don’t have to compromise on the important parts, like air conditioning and private bathrooms.
Home to Keifer and Bella, an English-Cambodian couple, this friendly homestay has 8 private rooms for rent at excellent prices, starting from just $10USD a night. All rooms are air conditioned and have their own private bathroom. The rooms are basic, with no televisions or kettles, which is how these guys can keep their prices as low as possible, but they’re clean and comfortable! And fear not, from 7am til 10am, Keifer will gladly make you a cup of tea or coffee in the morning!
The building is located around a ten minute walk from Pub Street Siem Reap (Or 3 minutes in a tuk-tuk!) and is just off Taphul Road, an area known to being home to many highly rated restaurants and cafes in Siem Reap to suit all budgets and tastes. Getting to Angkor Wat from Errol’s is very easy and they even have a scooter you can rent! The building has different types of stays available including Double, Twin and Triple rooms.
In the mornings, you’ll find Keifer in the reception and bar area which is located on the second floor and is where you can grab yourself a cold drink or pick up those last minute toiletries you forgot to buy! He and his wife have an unbelievable knowledge on the Siem Reap area and pride themselves on being able to give you the best recommendations on how to make the most of your trip to Siem Reap.
Whether you want suggestions for bars, restaurants or activities to get up to in town that you’d be unlikely to find without the help of a local, these guys have got it all which is one of the reasons we think this is a great hotel in Siem Reap for budget travellers who still want to have a good time.
A relatively new business, Errol’s was founded in 2023 on the idea that people should be able to visit Siem Reap and fully experience it without having to fork out for expensive accomodation, or have to scour the depths of reddit to try and find interesting things to do in town. After a few cans of Ganzberg beer in the lounge area, Keifer and Bella have no problem taking guests into town to show them the coolest nightlife spots Siem Reap has to offer, so make sure to strike up a conversation! They’ll be able to point you in the direction of plenty of great bars and restaurants.
Errol’s is not currently able to accept credit card payments but they accept cash and KHQR/ ABA payments. You can also pay by card if you book one of the rooms available on AirBNB. Errol’s is one of the very few places in Cambodia that will actually accept crypto payments through several different cryptocurrencies for both accommodation and the bar, including USDT, Bitcoin and XNO. Errol’s doesn’t have a kitchen, but they’re more than happy to order food for you! Make sure to ask them to get you a pizza from Bella’s Pizzeria and Western Eatery!
