Duckmart, located on River Road just North of National Road 6, is well known in town for having the best pool tables in Siem Reap. Whether you’re just looking for a friendly game with your mates, or you want to take on the big boys and join in with the competitions, Duckmart is the place to be. Good quality pool tables in Siem Reap can be difficult to find, with many of the tables you’ll see in bars being old, damaged or not even level! The 4 tables at duckmart are high quality 9ft tournament pool tables in excellent condition and well maintained. They provide decent pool cues (another rarity!) and even have pool gloves available for you to use, which prevents the need for people to use talcum powder on their hands like they do in other bars in Cambodia, which inevitably gets on the tables and damages them.

The bar at Duckmart offers great deals and prices on drinks. Local beers are available from $1, bottled craft beers from $2.50 and Jagermeister shots for only $1! Treat yourself to some ice cold Cambodia beers (including the new Cambodia Lite) and be in with a chance to win! It’s also popular with visitors to town who are on the hunt for good pool tables in Siem Reap. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet Fatty, the Duckmart shop cat.

They also have a 55 inch TV set up by the bar area, so whether you’re into Premier League football, Formula One racing, or UFC fights, speak to a member of staff at the bar and they’ll put it on for you!

What is Killer Pool?
Killer pool is a multiplayer game played on pool tables that can potentially be played by unlimited players. It usually involves all players adding a small amount of money to the central ‘Pot’ which can be claimed by the overall winner of the game.

In killer pool, all players begin with a set number of lives (usually three) and take it in turns trying to pot balls in the pockets. The player can target any of the balls on the table but if they fail to pot any ball on their turn, they lose one of their lives and the next person steps up to take their turn. If the player loses all of their lives, they are excluded from the game and this continues until only one player remains and is declared the winner!

There are other rules which can get incorporated and depend on the “subrules” or “House Rules” of the people you’re playing with. This can include players getting an extra life for potting the black 8 ball, or not having to forfeit a life for not potting a ball on the break (which means they get an extra opportunity to shoot). Some people play with an additional rule that means potting the white ball (scratching or fouling) costs the player an additional life.

The History of Duckmart
Owners Chris and Mon began their journey three years ago after purchasing 10 male and 7 female ducks. Pushing through any difficulties that arose, this venture quickly expanded into a fully functional duck farm complete with an incubator and around 150 ducks. With a surplus of duck eggs to sell, Mon left her job in the hotel industry and together, Chris and Mon opened their first minimart (duckmart, of course!).

Quickly realising they needed more space, they moved to a larger venue on the popular Funky Lane. This extra space inspired Chris to bring in a high quality 9ft tournament pool table, a welcome addition to town at a time when most pool tables in Siem Reap were old and dilapidated.

Within a few months, Duckmart had the 2 best pool tables in Siem Reap, and was hosting weekly competitions with up to 16 players. Fast forward to today, with it’s new, even bigger location, Duckmart is now an even more impressive venture, and well known around town for being the place to go if you’re looking for the best pool tables in Siem Reap. True to Duckmart’s roots, a section of the front of the venue is still a dedicated minimart, selling well priced goods to those passing by. Duckmart now has 4 high quality pool tables!

From their website, which can be found by CLICKING HERE, Chris and Mon say;
Our passion is to create an unforgettable atmosphere, setting the stage for one of the town’s most charming bars. With our dedication, we’ve crafted a space where every detail reflects our commitment to offering an experience filled with warmth, camaraderie, and last memories.”
